Give repeat questions a useful first answer

Fire Away can use your approved support knowledge to answer recurring customer questions in chat. Start with predictable tasks and policies, review the results, and keep exceptions with your people. Automating a familiar question is useful when it helps the customer finish the task, not simply when it produces another reply.

For teams repeatedly explaining the same setup steps, eligibility rules or standard policies.

Choose repetition with a stable answer

Read recent support conversations and identify questions with the same underlying task. Password-reset instructions, team invitations and published delivery rules are possible candidates when the steps are current. Exclude questions that only look similar but depend on a private account state, a policy exception or a new investigation. Those cases need additional context or a person.

Test the awkward versions of the easy question

Customers rarely repeat your article title word for word. Try a short question, an incomplete question, a mistaken assumption and a case where the standard answer does not apply. Include a request to talk to a person. These tests tell you more than asking the same clean demo question repeatedly and treating fluent wording as proof of correctness.

Check whether the customer actually got unstuck

Review replies and look for repeated contacts about the same issue. A fast answer that sends someone around in circles is not useful support. Inspect the sources, correct missing steps and compare the revised answer with the earlier failure. Fire Away’s review tools support this process, but your team still needs to choose which outcomes matter and review them consistently.

What should AI answer, and when should people help?

Illustrative scenarios for planning your setup. These are examples, not customer results.

Example workflow: AI support for repetitive customer questions
Customer question or situationUseful AI roleWhere people or your app take responsibility
A documented question recurs every day.Explain the current steps from approved knowledge. The customer reports that those steps did not work.
A familiar question depends on account status.Use permitted read-only context when integrated. The required facts are unavailable.
A customer asks for an exception.Explain the normal rule without inventing permission.A person decides what happens next.

Questions about this setup

Will AI eliminate our support workload? +
That is not a result we can promise. The useful scope depends on your questions, knowledge quality and review process. Test a small set of recurring tasks before expanding.
How do we improve a repeated wrong answer? +
Inspect the reply and its sources, correct the relevant knowledge or configuration, and rerun the original question and its edge cases.
